Too Much, Too Fast

Have you seen the want-a-be affiliate marketers who offer Widget A this week, Product B next week, and the greatest Sevice the week after that?

You may or may not know their name. But I am willing to bet you don’t pay much attention to their offers. Am I right?

Couple of things to remember from previous posts. People buy from those that they KNOW, LIKE, and TRUST. You are not going to get rich in 30 days. It takes time. Do you think offering a different peroduct every week or so will do either of those things?

Let’s look at the alternative that will lead to success.

Pick 1 Product

How to pick a product is a post all by itself. Let’s look at the most important aspects.

  • Do research to determine what are the hot topics. Making money, health, and dating are the top 3.
  • Most affiliate marketing product sites offer ways to search for available products to make your selection easier.
  • Look on social media sites and see what people are talking about.
  • Would you sell the product to your mother?
  • Pick a product that will help you in some way.

Buy the Product

I believe it is very important to buy the product. If you own the product, you can make the best assessment. You may choose to do a video and being able to show the product is a necessity.

Being able to authenticate how the product works is also very important.

Sometimes the developer will give you the product or a discount if you email them and tell them you are going to promote the product. This will happen more often after you start making sales. But, it never hurts to ask.

Things to Consider about A Product

Here are the 4 most important things to know about your product.

  1. What problem(s) does the product solve?
  2. Who has this problem?
  3. What other problems do they have?
  4. Are there other products they will need?

Knowing the answers to these questions will prove invaluable in your marketing efforts.

Now What?

Now that you have your product, it is time to get ready to advertise. Here are the steps to get ready to advertise.

  1. Choose your “lead magnet” if you are offering one.
  2. Get your lead capture page(s) ready.
  3. Get your sales page ready.
  4. A bridge page with you talking about the product isn’t absolutely necessary but recommended. (A bridge page is a page between the lead capture and the sales page. Think of it as a pre-sales page.)
  5. Get your follow-up emails ready.
  6. Test all your pages.
  7. Once everything is ready, start sending traffic to your lead capture page. You should be tracking your traffic sources. Monitor what is working and what isn’t. Make adjustments as necessary.
  8. When you start making sales, ask your purchasers for testimonials. Add these to your sales page.
  9.

I think this is more than enough for today.
